Cheating an ugly issue - some stats

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 survey from Rutgers' Management Education Center, which polled 4,500 high school students, found that 75 percent of these students had cheated. UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL: In a major study of both college and high school students by Duke University's Center for Academic Integrity, more than 70 percent of the students surveyed admitted to having cheated at least once on exams in the previous GRADUATE SCHOOL: More than half (56%) of M.B.A. candidates say they cheated in the past year, concludes a study by the Academy of Management Learning and Education of 5,300 students in the U.S. and Canada. With 54% of graduate engineering students, 50% of students in the physical sciences, 49% of medical and other health-care students, 45% of law students, 43% of graduate students in the arts and 39% of graduate students in the social sciences and humanities readily admitting to cheating, something must be done to correct course. REAL LIFE************************************************************************ We see cheating in real life. Recently in the last 5 years at least 60 major corporations have restated their financial statements. Many times the motivation was not from an honest mistake or carelessness but rather a need to have higher earnings to generate higher stock values for shareholders. Sports is notorious for cheating. Baseball and Barry Bonds...done. Now taxes how about that....yup. Enough said.

What is Telugu?

Telugu has 135 million speakers around the world. By comparison Japanese is spoken by 130 million speakers. So it's a pretty well spoken language with its own script and very rich literature. University of Texas at Austin is offering beginners and accelerated course work in Telugu beginning 2007 as part of its Asian Studies program. (: I am ethnically Telugu from the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. That's likely my mother's tongue and most certainly both my grandma's. (:

Dance

To be an attractive person, I sincerely believe the most important feature to develop is our personality. Today I will focus on the culture component. One of the neatest things to learn is how to do a couple's dance. I am not talking high school. I am talking social dances like swing, salsa, and the waltz. Yesterday night, I went to my first Salsa dance lesson. Too much fun!!!! In Indianapolis, the website to go to is http://www.salsaindy.com Frugal tip - we even got in for free no cover. Emailed the VIP list and now we know how to get a free 20 minute lesson every Friday. We are supplementing it with a DVD we bought in Barnes and Noble on Salsa moves. We will be experimenting with all the moves they show us. That way every week when we go to class, we can ask someone there if we are having trouble. You can do the same with Swing as well. Do to the popularity of Salsa - it is a cheaper and easier couples' dance to learn.
